One of these days, I'm going to buy myself a notebook computer. The ones that weight less than a ream of paper. Naturally, it has to be a Mac and it has to be less than $1000. And it has to be fast, as fast as my SE/30, whose speed I've grown accustomed to. Am I dreaming? Maybe not. Apple keeps introducing faster, cheaper, smaller hardware. One of these days, my dream will come true. Maybe it will be in the form of a PowerPC notebook. Who knows? Then, maybe I'll be able to fax, log onto online services, write articles, play games, and look really cool in airport lounges. Hmm. That battery better hold a sturdy charge.
In this issue, you'll find a neat hack that proves once and for all that MicroPhone knows how to add and subtract. All you have to do is supply the numbers.
Also featured is a fun module that I'm beginning to use more and more. It's called TextBooks, and it allows you to quickly store all of your thoughts into little TextBooks, that you can display right from within MicroPhone. Check it out.
Finally, this issue of Open Mike introduces a new column, Tips & Tricks, featuring the best of all the hints we've received from our readers. If you think you've got a cool tip for other MicroPhone users, send it in. Not only will we appreciate you greatly, you'll get a nifty reward, too!
